What would you do if someone betrayed a secret you told them?
Nicky Taylor Asked: What would you do if someone betrayed a secret you told them?
Hello Yahoo Answer Community. Here's my story, and I will try to keep it short.
Ive known him since I was 10, through our parents. Our parents were close friends, so he came over our house frequently. He moved away, and as a result I lost contact with him for years. Eight years later, we reunited on Facebook. If you're wondering what our ages are, he's 21 and I'm 18. One day I talked to him on Facebook because my father damaged my laptop and cell phone due to my attitude, and I needed to confide in someone. He willingly and caringly listened, and additionally cheered me up.
As the conversation progressed, I confessed that I loved him (horrible decision, I know) and he professed the same. All of a sudden I was swept off my feet. He seemed like the perfect genuine boyfriend. He seemed too good to be true. I considered him my dream boyfriend. Afterwards, we started talking daily, even monthly. I couldnt get enough of him.
As I we became more acquainted, I realized that he is self-absorbed. The conversation almost always revolved around him. But I still continued talking to him, because he enamored me. He was incredibly witty and romantic. He worded his sentences so smoothly.
I never felt I was good enough for him, due to the fact he was in a financially preferable situation than mine. One day, I revealed to him my drug-dealing father, and how my parents minimized my chance of attending college. Of course, he caringly assured me it was okay.
Five months into the relationship, it was giving me bad vibes. I loved and hated him at the same time, because he was self-absorbed and arrogant yet a brilliant charmer. It felt like I needed him so much, because I didn't have any else to actually rely on. So I tried to get rid of him (I know, Im mean…) by being passive aggressive. We got into an argument, and I finally told him he had a flamboyant ego. He then made fun of how my life is ruined because of my parents, and even stated that he will move forward in life, I suppose emphasizing my ruined situation.
Should I forgive him and give him another chance?
