Should your parents or parent or siblings ever be involved in your relationship(dating)?

Zach M Asked: Should your parents or parent or siblings ever be involved in your relationship(dating)?

I'm 16 years old and so is my girlfriend…well more like my ex girlfriend right now. We've been dating for 3 years and my mom knows her and her parents and sister, like their friends. We've had fights before but usually after a couple hours we forget about it and just act like it didn't happen. Friday we had a fight but it was more of a serious one and she told me she didn't want to be bothered with me anymore right now and we haven't talked since then. I guess she told her big sister about it and her sister told their mom and her mom called mine so all weekend long my mom's been annoying me telling me I need to apologize to my ex/gf for what happened because it was my fault. Yeah it partially might be my fault but if I apologize I'll do it on my own time. Plus having my mom in the middle of my relationship like that doesn't help any. When we were younger it was okay but now I'd rather they just mind their own business and stay out of our relationship.

Am I wrong for just wanting stuff like fights/disagreements to be between my girlfriend and I? How do I get them to stay out of our relationship(or the next one)?
