Could this be called "intra-family rascism"?

Alexis Asked: Could this be called "intra-family rascism"?

I was born into a family of mixed races (native american, puerto rican, middle eastern, and eastern european). I have 1 brother and we have the same parents. Both of my parents are very tan and so is my brother. I am not. You could say I look rather pale (lighter than my bff who's caucasian). I am the ONLY one in my family like this and because of that I am constantly the bud of everyones jokes. They call me "that white girl" or "powder" like from the movie (i'm not albino). I've tried to laugh it off but that just seems to make them think it's ok. I've tried to tan — doesn't work, I just burn and get made fun of. I've tried to tell them and explain to them that it hurts my feelings and to please stop, which they'll do for a while but then start again. I don't even feel like I'm part of the family and I'm sick of trying to tan and conform to what they think I should look like. But I don't know what to do. I know they think it's funny and they're just messing arouund but it's hurtful to me. What should I do?

I kind of know what your going through, because im the lightest in my family. its nothing to be worried or upset about because it just your pigmentation. and its not racism because their your blood family so they cant really be racist. If its such an issue for you then just sit your family aside indivually and talk too them and tell them how you really feel. And that them saying comments is hurting you. and next time they do it dont laugh ,,,walk off .Trust me it will teach them icon smile Could this be called "intra family rascism"?
